Robotics club’s creation

Ladybird Group of Schools continues to distinguish itself as a pioneer in high-tech and digital education in Yaounde. The institution has made remarkable progress in integrating modern digital tools, robotics, entrepreneurship, and remote learning systems into its teaching and learning process.

Robotics Prototype creation

One of the most significant milestones is the Coding and Robotics Program, which positions Ladybird as one of the only two pilot schools in Yaounde implementing this innovation. The program, originally drawn from Rwanda, places Ladybird among the first institutions in Cameroon to adopt a structured three-year training in coding and robotics. This course leads to international certification and prepares learners for the global digital economy. Although the program faced management challenges in previous years, it has been fully revamped for the current academic year and will systematically run in Form One and Form Two before expanding. By the end of the three-year cycle, learners will receive certification that strengthens their technological competencies and entrepreneurial potential.

Entrepreneurship Program

In addition to robotics, the school also runs a dynamic Entrepreneurship Program, effectively integrated across both the Primary and Secondary Sections. These programs form part of the core identity of Ladybird which reflect the institution’s unique strengths in entrepreneurial development and digital education.

Yakili Digital Teaching Platform

Ladybird has made outstanding progress through the Yakili Digital Teaching Platform, another pilot initiative in Yaounde.

Through Yakili, classrooms are equipped with digital boards, projectors, adaptable touch pens, and an online lesson-delivery system. Teachers provide their weekly Lessons which transformed into teachable slides  and  uploaded by Yakili on the platform. They are reviewed by teachers and then projected in class, allowing for interactive learning without the use of chalkboards.

Teachers can write directly on the projected interface, display videos, access online resources, and integrate multimedia content seamlessly into their lessons. The platform is internet-enabled, allowing for real-time content updates.

Importantly, Yakili also supports remote learning: students can access lessons, homework, and digital exercises from home. This aligns with national efforts to foster distance learning, especially for learners affected by displacement or difficult circumstances.

Ladybird’s commitment to digital transformation mirrors the forward-looking policy vision of the Ministry of Secondary Education under Professor Nalova Lyonga, who champions technology-driven education and distance learning as integral components of modern schooling.

By combining robotics, coding, entrepreneurship, and advanced digital platforms for both classroom and remote learning, Ladybird Group of Schools stands out as a leading high-tech educational institution. The CEO and Founder Mrs Martha Pufong’s vision is to prepare students to compete with their peers across the world, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and digital confidence needed to excel in a rapidly changing global environment.

Ladybird is therefore breaking new ground in digitalization at both the Primary and Secondary levels, reinforcing its identity as a model institution in innovative and technology-enhanced learning.
