School Policies: Our Commitment to Excellence

Motto: High Moral Standards and Academic Excellence

At Ladybird Group of Schools, our policies are designed to create a safe, nurturing, and disciplined environment where every student can thrive. These policies serve as a contract of shared responsibility between the school, the students, and the parents.

1. Safeguarding and Child Protection

The safety and well-being of our students are our highest priorities.

  • Zero Tolerance: We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of bullying, harassment, or abuse.

  • Safe Environment: All staff members undergo rigorous background checks and are trained to identify and report any concerns regarding a child’s welfare.

  • Duty of Care: We believe that every child has the right to be protected from harm, and our school is a "safe haven" where children can express themselves freely and safely.

2. Academic Integrity and Assessment

Aligned with our goal of Academic Excellence, we uphold strict standards for student work:

  • Honesty: We expect total honesty in all assessments. Malpractice during exams results in immediate disciplinary action.

  • Growth Mindset: Our assessment policy is focused on "gathering evidence to guide learning." We view mistakes as opportunities for remedial support and growth.

3. Code of Conduct and Discipline

To uphold High Moral Standards, we expect our students to be role models in the community:

  • Mutual Respect: Respect for teachers, peers, and school property is non-negotiable.

  • Discipline as Education: Discipline at Ladybird is corrective, not punitive. We aim to teach students self-control, responsibility, and the consequences of their actions.

  • Electronic Devices: To ensure focus, mobile phones and unauthorized electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited on campus.

4. Health and Safety Policy

  • Safe Campus: We maintain a secure perimeter with professional security personnel.

  • Medical Awareness: Parents must disclose any medical conditions or allergies. Minor injuries are handled by our school matrons, while emergencies are referred to our partner clinics.

  • Hygiene: We promote a clean environment; students are taught the importance of personal hygiene and the care of their surroundings.

5. Punctuality and Attendance

  • The 7:25 AM Rule: Punctuality is a life skill. Regular attendance and timely arrival (by 7:25 AM) are mandatory for academic success.

  • Absence Notification: Parents must notify the school secretary by 8:00 AM if a student will be absent due to illness or family emergency.

6. Partnership with Parents

We believe that education is a partnership between the home and the school:

  • Open Communication: We encourage parents to be active participants in their child's education.

  • Respectful Engagement: While we welcome feedback, all interactions between parents and staff must be conducted with the mutual respect that our school motto inspires.

Note: These policies are subject to periodic review by the School Board to ensure they continue to meet the needs of our evolving school community. For a full copy of the Student/Parent Handbook, please visit the Administration Office.
