Our Learning Support department is dedicated to providing the extra care, specialized instruction, and encouragement needed for every learner to thrive.

Our Approach to Support

Learning support at Ladybird is not a separate path, but a bridge to help students reach the same high standards as their peers. Our approach involves:

1. Early Identification

Through our continuous assessment and 6-week sequence system, our teachers are trained to spot early signs of learning challenges. Whether it is a struggle with literacy in the Primary years or complex concepts in the Science stream, we step in early to provide help.

2. Individualized Attention

We understand that some students require a more personalized pace. Our learning support staff works closely with classroom teachers to adapt lessons, ensuring that concepts are broken down into manageable steps. This helps build the student's confidence and prevents frustration.

3. Targeted Intervention and Remedial Classes

For students who need more focused help, we offer Remedial Classes. These sessions are specifically designed to revisit challenging topics and fill gaps in understanding. These interventions focus on core areas such as:

• Literacy and Phonics: Helping younger learners find their voice in reading and writing.

• Numeracy Support: Strengthening the foundational math skills required for higher grades.

• Study Skills: Teaching Secondary and High School students how to organize their work and manage their time.

Digital Learning Tools

To enhance our support services, we integrate modern technology to provide students with 24/7 access to educational resources:

• YAKILI Digital Learning Program: We proudly utilize the YAKILI platform to provide students with interactive lessons, practice exercises, and video tutorials. This allows students to review classroom material at their own pace and reinforces their learning through a modern, engaging interface.

• Digital Library: Our state-of-the-art digital library supplements our physical resources. It provides students with immediate access to a vast collection of e-books, academic journals, and research materials, ensuring that support is available both inside and outside the classroom.

Support for Diverse Needs

We believe that a "difficulty" is simply an opportunity for a different teaching method. Our support extends to:

• English as a Second Language: For students joining us who need extra help mastering English to fully access the curriculum.

• Varying Learning Paces: Providing extra time or modified resources for students who process information at a different speed.
