STUDENTS' LEADERSHIP
At Ladybird Group of Schools, we believe in training the leaders of tomorrow today. Our leadership program gives students the opportunity to take on real responsibilities, represent their peers, and help maintain the high standards of our school community.
The Prefect Body
The Prefect Body is made up of senior students who have shown exceptional discipline and academic commitment. They are the primary role models for the student population.
The Senior Prefects: Lead the entire prefect team and act as the main link between the students and the school administration.
Academic Prefects: Assist in maintaining a quiet and focused environment during study periods and help organize academic competitions.
Discipline Prefects: Ensure that the school rules—including uniform standards and punctuality—are followed at all times.
Sanitation Prefects: Lead initiatives to keep the classrooms and the campus clean and environmentally friendly.
Sports & Social Prefects: Help organize school events, clubs, and sports activities.
The Student Council
The Student Council is a representative body where students from different classes are elected by their peers.
The Student Voice: The council provides a platform for students to suggest improvements to school life, from canteen choices to playground facilities.
Meeting with Administration: Representatives meet regularly with the school leadership to discuss student concerns and plan community projects.
Event Planning: Members help organize annual events like Cultural Week and National Day celebrations.
Leadership Training
Student leaders are not just appointed; they are coached. Every year, our leaders participate in:
Leadership Workshops: Training on public speaking, conflict resolution, and teamwork.
Mentorship: Working closely with teachers and school matrons to learn how to manage responsibilities effectively.
The Duke of Edinburgh Program: Many of our leaders also participate in this club to further develop their resilience and community service skills.
How to Become a Leader
To qualify for a leadership position, a student must:
Maintain a strong academic record.
Demonstrate "High Moral Standards" in their daily behavior.
Be recommended by their teachers and pass an interview with the School Board.
Being a leader at Ladybird is a position of service. It is an honor that prepares our students for university life and their future careers in Cameroon and beyond.
